About World's Best Hammocks
Experience The World’s Best Hammocks!
After traveling the world searching for the highest quality hammocks, we've finally found them! The difference between us and most other hammock companies is that we don’t pretend to make them. We have connected with a local Nicaraguan family that we hope to provide them business for years to come.
After scouring the planet, Brandon, Co-founder of worldsbesthammocks.com, ended up right back where he started: Nicaragua, the heart and soul of the hammock. Check Brandon's story on our blog page to learn more about his global hammock hunt.
The Hand-Woven Cotton Hammocks
These are the gold standard in hammock land. The Rolls Royce, Bitcoin, the best of the best. We wouldn’t say this if we didn’t believe it. We haven't come across a higher-quality hammock yet than these Central American ones. These are made by a Nicaraguan family who has been making and selling hammocks for more than 3 generations.
Comfortable quality handmade hammocks
Each hammock is custom made, one at a time, and the only machine used is a drill to make holes in the wooden spreader bars. It takes about 24 hours of labor to make one King Size Hammock.
These hammocks are made of 100% cotton which provides the perfect stretch over time, compared with many other hammocks which are made with non-stretchable synthetic materials.
The wooden spreader bars are made out of Laurel or a local Cedar, both tropical hardwoods found throughout central America and known for being some of the hardest wood around. Knock on wood, we’ve never seen one break yet!
Don’t want dyed cotton? Our “Natural” colored hammocks are 100% raw cotton. They’re completely free of any dyes.
Nicaraguan hammocks' size and capacity
Our King Size hammocks are the most popular. The spreader bars are 57” wide. Allowing for plenty of room for a party of 1+.
Queen Size have a spreader bar width of 48” still lots of room, but not quite as massive as the king size.
The hammock chairs measure 36” in width, they provide a great alternative to lying flat. A few of these hanging on a porch provide a great setting to sit and visit with family and friends.
Many people ask about weight limits. Lets put it this way, if you can comfortably fit in one of our hammocks, it will hold you. The weakest link of a hammock setup is the hanging. Hang it right and you’ll be fine!
The Nylon Hammocks
While we favor the Nicaraguan Hammock for at home relaxation, when it comes to traveling, we highly advise taking a nylon parachute hammock with you. These easy-to-pack hammocks are game changers. With the right hanging straps, there’s nowhere they can’t be hung within reason. As they say, “as long as it’s hung well, you got nothing to worry about”.
Why choose our Nylon hammocks?
Travel hammocks can be found anywhere, and in fact, our nylon hammocks are most likely not different than branded ones. But it's our goal to supply the best price - and not add any branding on them. We'd rather pass the savings on to you!
Like most nylon hammocks, ours are made in China - as we couldn't find a manufacturer in the USA. Don’t let the fact that they’re made in China fool you. They are high quality, lightweight, and rated up to 500 lbs.
Best traveling hammocks
When you order one of these, you’ll get the hammock, a pair of hanging straps, and 2 clips to hang them. It's plug-and-play. No chains, no screws, just wrap the straps around 2 vertical things and let the swaying begin.
The storage bag is also integrated into the body of the hammock to ensure it doesn’t get lost.
If you're going on a trip, make sure to pack your travel hammock! You can always string up these hammocks inside hotel rooms, on balconies between the rails, or at the beach.
