Our story
Three generations of hammock makers in Masaya, Nicaragua
I owned a sailboat charter business in Nicaragua from 2011 to 2023. Down there I watched everyone from babies to people in their 90s spend time in a hammock every day, and they lived at a slower, less stressed pace than we do. So I made it a daily ritual. These days I spend about 3 hours a day in mine and no time at all on a couch or recliner.
I spent about two years traveling the world and tried a hammock in every country I visited. None of them compared to the ones from Nicaragua. When I moved back to Texas, I started importing them for myself, friends and family, and that grew into this small business.
Every hammock is handmade by a small family in Masaya, known all over the country for their hammocks and now in their third generation of making them. Your purchase supports a small business in Texas and a family in Nicaragua that is proud of its work.
Muchas gracias, Brandon
